Pray for All Who Are in Authority - A Great Way to Be Politically Active & It Beats Fretting
First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. (1 Tim. 2:1-4)
Intercessors for America is calling for intensive prayer, especially from January 3-6, 2021. They have an outstanding prayer focus newsletter available here.
Their blogs contain many truly interesting articles about how to pray, which you can view here. The article titled Lord, Bring the Plots of the Wicked on Their Own Heads offers a number of scriptural prayers that can be used right now. Below I am posting a portion of this blog.
The law of sowing and reaping is a universal, natural law that applies even to politics in the USA.
As Galatians 6:7-8 tells us: “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.”
In the United States today, in many areas, we are reaping the chaos that the unholy alliance of corrupt politicians, lying media, and worshippers of darkness have sown. However, although it may appear that the wicked ones get a free pass to do anything they want, God’s Word says it isn’t so.
The Bible tells us that the plots of the wicked will return upon their own heads.
As it says in Psalm 7:14-16: “Behold, the wicked brings forth iniquity; yes, he conceives trouble and brings forth falsehood. He made a pit and dug it out, and has fallen into the ditch which he made. His trouble shall return upon his own head, and his violent dealing shall come down on his own crown.”
When a person’s crimes and plots return upon their own heads, the world says,“What goes around comes around.” However, in the Kingdom, we have a better name for it: the law of sowing and reaping. And this law, which works every time, is a powerful weapon in our prayer arsenal if we remember to get it out and use it.
You can continue reading this blog here and it will provide you with several specific prayers to pray based on this principle of sowing and reaping. Rather than fretting about evil, let's take authority over it, through prayer. In prayer we can support those battling in government for truth and righteousness.
"When justice rules a nation, everyone is glad; when injustice rules, everyone groans."
Proverbs 29:2 Contemporary English Version
Through prayer, we have authority over governments and over the forces of evil. We CAN be involved. Join me in interceding for our country. Prayer DOES change things!
